Overland Park, KS (October 6, 2016) – Kansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense program, announced James Griffiths of Cornerstone Mortgage, Inc., was honored with a Patriot Award on September 21, 2016 in recognition of his extraordinary support of an employee serving in the United States Army Reserve.
According to Walt Frederick, ESGR State Chair, “The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
SPC. Durojaiye O. Akinmoladun, a member of 10th Psychological Operations unit in St. Louis, Missouri, nominated Griffiths for the award stating “Cornerstone Mortgage, Inc., which is headquartered in St. Louis, is a very military-supportive place to work.” Griffiths received the award as the direct supervisor of Akinmoladun. Mr. Griffiths accepted the award from Diane Boeger, Kansas ESGR Area Chair.
