I am writing this brief note to express my gratitude for the services my husband and I have received from Chris Wood in our latest transaction for mortgage on our new home. I have shopped around for the best rates prior to even being able to lock the rate on our mortgage as we were in the process of building our home and utilizing a construction loan with another bank at the time. I applied online with Cornerstone Mortgage, Inc. and got a response from Chris the next day. I had an honest conversation with Chris mentioning that I was not yet ready to commit and was looking for the rate trends, etc. Chris was very patient, and suggested that he would keep me updated on a daily basis on the rate developments until I would be ready to lock the rate. Despite his busy schedule, I received a note from Chris every day! He found the best possible rate for us. I could not even come close to it with some other people in the industry that I knew who tried to get my business. Even with the rate lock, we ran into an issue of timing of completion of our house, and I knew that would be unable to keep the initially anticipated date for the closing. Chris came through for us again. With his help, we were able to extend the lock by 2 weeks allowing us to finish our home and close the construction loan at no cost to us. In addition, we were able to get lower rate (step down) closer to the lock date. I have done a few real estate transactions, including a couple of refinances in the last 15 years. I have never came even close, although the people I dealt with were very nice and professional, to the level of customer service that I received from Chris and his team. Chris was able to answer my questions quickly and was always very straightforward and timely on all his responses. I will for sure recommend your company to anyone who asks me for referrals for mortgage – and specifically – I will recommend Chris.
